Encouraging Innovation in Consumer Participation

In partnership with APSU at SHARC, ReGen invites you to our annual Innovation in Action Seminar.

This year's free seminar will focus on the current state of Consumer Participation practice within the AOD sector, what we can learn from other sectors, barriers to change and opportunities for future expansion of Consumer Participation in AOD service planning, delivery and review.

The seminar will feature:

  • Keynote address by Prof Carla Treloar (Deputy Director, Centre for Social Research in Health at UNSW) on her research on the impacts of Consumer Participation in AOD treatment and the enablers/obstacles within agency practice;
  • Presentations on agencies' Consumer Participation practice by consumers and service providers from:
    • APSU at SHARC - Jeff Gavin & Marg Quon;
    • ReGen - Regina Brindle & Jo;
    • Neami National - Julie Anderson; &
    • living positive victoria - Brent Allan
  • Panel discussion by presenters (plus ReGen Consumer Consultants Richard and Con) on ways forward for the Victorian AOD sector.

See the seminar program for more details about each speaker and the topics they will be discussing.

For those unable to attend in person, we will be providing a live video stream on the day.  This video will then be permanently available on our YouTube channel.

We welcome your questions for individual speakers and the panel.  You can submit questions on notice ahead of the event via Twitter (using the #iAOD16 hashtag), Facebook message, email () or SMS (0435 875 818).

On the day, you can follow the live feed and participate in the #iAOD16 discussion on Twitter. See our social media guide for more information on how you can contribute your ideas an experience.
